Good books. Real people. Meaningful relationships.
Read & Represent brings community members into classrooms and learning spaces to share identity-affirming books, build relationships with young readers, and strengthen the village surrounding every child.
Literacy is Liberation.
MORE THAN A READ-ALOUD
Read & Represent is a community-centered literacy initiative connecting children with diverse books, caring adults, and joyful literacy experiences.
Through interactive read-alouds, culturally affirming texts, community engagement, and access to meaningful literacy resources, we create opportunities for children to see themselves reflected in literature while expanding their understanding of the people and possibilities around them.
Because literacy isn't only about learning how to read.
We're building a village of readers.
